Starting Your Business

Before going into business there are many things you must consider.  If you have an idea for a business within the Rural City of Wangaratta, the Council's Economic Development team recommends you set up a time to visit with the staff to discuss your ideas.
There are also a number of usefull resources to help you such as the Victorian Government's website which outlines all you need to know about setting up a business.

31 July 2018  Launch - North East SMall Business Festival.  Celebrate the launch of the 2018 North East Small Business Festival at the Wangaratta Art Gallery. Join us as we kick off the August long festival with details on the many events being held throughout the region. Free of Charge  Bookings

7 August 2018  Starting a FarmgateLocal farmers, landholders and interested producers will have
the opportunity to learn how to sell their goods through their own Farmgate. The workshop will look at your legal obligations, marketing and getting started with setting up your Farmgate. $15 per person

14 August 2018  Powering Through: Beat rising energy costs.  Working with Sustainability Victoria, participants will get an insight into how to cut costs on their energy bills by implementing small to medium sustainable practices. Learn about grants and hear some great case studies. $15 per person  Bookings

15 August 2018  Refrigeration Efficency Masterclass - Delivered by Sustainability Victoria. The course content will cover key principles relating to the efficient and reliable operation of refrigeration equipment, choice of refrigerants, working with refrigeration contractors, and accessing financing for energy efficiency upgrades. The course focus will be on improving the energy efficiency of walk-in cool rooms. Free of Charge Bookings
