Check your bin day
Council suggests placing your bins out the night prior to your collection day, as your bins can be collected from 6:00am.
Bins should be located as close to the kerb as possible, placed half a metre apart from each other and away from any obstacle (trees, parked cars...) to ensure collection.

RE: Kerbside Bin Collection Christmas Day 2025
The Rural City of Wangaratta advises residents of changes to kerbside bin collections over the Christmas period due to the public holiday.
If your usual bin collection day falls on Thursday 25 December (Christmas Day), please note the following adjustments:
- Organics (green bin) will be collected one day earlier, on Wednesday 24th December.
- General waste (red bin) will be collected one day earlier, on Wednesday 24th December.
- Recycling (yellow bin) collections will proceed as normal.
Residents affected by these changes are asked to place their general waste and/or organics bins out on the evening of Tuesday 23rd December to ensure collection.
All other public holiday collections remain unchanged, with regular services resuming from Thursday 1 January 2025.
