Grant Program Recipients

The Rural City of Wangaratta is proud to invest in local community groups, sporting clubs, events and organisations through its annual grants and sponsorship program.

The following recipients were endorsed by Council at its August 2026 meeting and will share in $110,000 of funding to deliver projects and initiatives that strengthen community connections, support participation, enhance wellbeing, and contribute to tourism and economic activity across our municipality.

Upgrade the Yarrunga Scout Hall kitchen with safe, modern appliances to improve food safety, accessibility and functionality, supporting youth programs, community events and shared meals in a welcoming community facility.

Brown Brothers Winery Brown Brothers x Grapes of Mirth – 12 December 2026

Grapes of Mirth is a food, wine and comedy event hosted at Brown Brothers, featuring a lineup of six well-known Australian comedians. The event combines live entertainment with local wine and food experiences, attracting visitors from across the region and beyond. Following several successful events in previous years, Grapes of Mirth is returning to Brown Brothers with an expanded program, offering a unique visitor experience that showcases the region's hospitality and tourism offering

Mustang Owners Club of Australia (Victoria) Inc. 2027 Australian Mustang Nationals – 9-12 April 2027

2027 marks the hosting of the National Ford Falcon GT Club of Australia Nationals in Wangaratta, attracting members from across Australia.

The event will feature regional touring, social functions, a public car display at Apex Park with more than 300 vehicles expected, and a track day at Winton Raceway. The program has been developed to support local businesses and showcase Wangaratta to visitors from around the country.
