To support responsible waste disposal and reduce costs for households within the Rural City of Wangaratta, General Waste Vouchers are issued annually to property owners as part of their rates notice. These vouchers offer a significant discount on the disposal of general domestic waste, helping residents manage their waste more affordably.

Each General Waste Voucher allows the disposal of the first cubic metre of general waste for just $5.00, with any additional waste charged at the standard gate fees. This initiative is designed to encourage proper waste management while providing financial relief to households.

Please note the following important conditions:

• General Waste Vouchers are valid only for the financial year in which they are issued and must be used before the expiry date.

• Only domestic waste is eligible. General Waste Vouchers cannot be used for commercial or trade account purposes.

• Soft furnishings, furniture, and mattresses are excluded from General Waste Voucher use and must be disposed of at standard rates.
