Support at Home
(Formerly Home Care Packages)
From 1 November 2025, the Australian Government is introducing the Support at Home program. This new model replaces the Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care programs, offering more flexible and tailored support for older Australians with complex care needs.
Eligibility
You may be eligible for these funded services if you:
- Are 65 years or older (or 50+ if you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person)
- Need assistance with daily tasks due to health issues or reduced mobility
My Aged Care is the starting point for all funded aged care services.

Classification and Budgets for ongoing service
Support at Home has 8 classifications for ongoing services.
After your needs assessment, you’ll be assigned a classification and annual budget based on your level of support needs.
Your annual budget is split into quarterly (3-monthly) budgets.
You can carry over unspent funds of up to $1,000 or 10% of your quarterly budget (whichever is greater).
