Hello Summer 2025 is a diverse program of free and low-cost events and community gatherings across Wangaratta.
Did you know that we have more than 2,400km of roads and 188 bridges? We also have over 100km of shared paths and 140km of footpaths.
These all require maintenance at some point to help keep users safe.

The existing timber bridge on Ivones Lane in Milawa is being replaced for a single lane concrete bridge. Works are due to start in September 2025 and take up to 3 months to complete. Speed restrictions will be in place for the duration of the works with temporary access for local traffic and equipment movement.
Following the closure of Worland Road in Wangaratta for a period of 4 weeks the road is now open with traffic management of 40km/h in place. Installation & upgrade of stormwater & sewer services is now complete. Traffic Management will remain in place for the duration of the remediation works. Additionally, traffic management for a half-road closure & detour 7am-5pm 1/12/25, some delays expected.
Rural City of Wangaratta have engaged Wangaratta Excavations to undertake road reconstruction works on Swan Street, Wangaratta. Road closures and detours will be in place.Prior to works commencing Variable Message Signs (VMS) will advise of road closures.Construction will commence on site from Wednesday 5 November with expected completion by 15 April 2026.

North East Water will be undertaking water main renewal works on Appin Street between Garnet Avenue and Esmond Street. Works are scheduled to commence on 26 November with expected completion by 20 December 2025. Traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works with minor traffic disruptions expected.
Traffic management will be in place on Glenrowan Road at the exit of the BP Service Station. A speed reduction to 60 km/h will apply through the work site from 24/11/2025 to 20/12/2025. This may cause some inconvenience to motorists for the duration of the works.
