Old School Night Out - May to October 2024

Building on the success of a 2023 pilot event in Wangaratta, the Grit and Resilience Program launched the "Old School Night Out" rural tour in 2024. This series of events brought live music and a nostalgic, community-centred atmosphere to four rural townships around Wangaratta. Hosted from May through October, the events were intended to foster social inclusion, bring people together across generations, and strengthen connections within Wangaratta’s outlying communities.

Feedback from attendees highlighted their enjoyment of the lively music, family-friendly atmosphere, and the opportunity to interact with friends, family, and neighbours in a relaxed setting. Notably, the events attracted a wide age range, often with four generations of a family attending together.
