In Victoria, you’ll need to use a registered builder or building company for domestic building work worth more than $10,000. But if the job involves only one type of work (such as painting or glazing), the person or company you use does not need to be registered.

Plumbers Public Register
Not all plumbing works need a licensed plumber, some can be completed by registered plumbers, and some can be completed by owners.
