The Sport and Recreation Advisory Committee is a community representative panel of individuals who are passionate about sport and recreation opportunities, strategic planning, and community engagement. The committee provides advice to Council on these services.
The committee consists of 10 skilled community members, as well as Councillors Harvey Benton and Ashlee Fitzpatrick, who hold the Sport and Recreation portfolio.
Membership terms are three years, with each member eligible to serve up to two consecutive terms.
About the Committee
The Sport and Recreation Advisory Committee (SRAC) includes members with skills, professional backgrounds, and expertise in sport and recreation, community engagement, facility management, health and wellbeing promotion, and event coordination.
The committee supports the planning, development, and promotion of sport and recreation opportunities across the region. Members contribute valuable insights to strategic planning, decision-making, and the ongoing improvement of Council’s sport and recreation services.
Committee membership is reviewed periodically in accordance with Council policies and governance requirements.
