Sport and Recreation Advisory Committee

The Sport and Recreation Advisory Committee (SRAC) is a community representative panel made up of individuals with a diverse range of experiences, perspectives and community connections who are passionate about sport, recreation, active living and community wellbeing.

The committee provides advice to Council on sport and recreation services and supports the planning, development and promotion of opportunities across the Wangaratta region. Members contribute valuable insights to strategic planning, decision-making and the ongoing improvement of Council’s sport and recreation facilities, programs and services.

SRAC consists of 10 community members, along with Councillors Harvey Benton and Ashlee Fitzpatrick, who hold the Sport and Recreation portfolio. Together, they help shape the future of sport, recreation and active living in Wangaratta by bringing different ideas, experiences and perspectives to the table.

• Membership terms are three years, with each member eligible to serve up to two consecutive terms.
• Committee membership is reviewed periodically in accordance with Council policies and governance requirements.
