Resource Recovery and Waste Education

1. Education and Community Engagement

Find out how your childcare facility, school or community group can book in for a visit from our Waste Education Officer. We can bring a recycling session to you or take your group for a guided tour of the Wangaratta Organics Facility, JJ Richards Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) or the Wangaratta Transfer Station.

2. Pre School and Childcare

The visit by our Waste Education Officer goes for about one hour. It includes stories, a PowerPoint presentation, games and activities so that students build a better understanding about how different materials can be recycled and which bin they should go in. Students will explore what it means to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

3. Primary and High Schools

Students engage in an interactive session exploring recycling, resources, and the circular economy. Students will build their understanding about the issue of waste and discover what solutions are available now and into the future. The presentation includes a presentation, activities and discussion that will inspire ideas and actions to reduce waste. School excursions may also be available to visit the Wangaratta Organics Facility, JJ Richards Multi Resource Facility (MRF) or the Wangaratta Transfer Station.

4. Community Groups and Service Providers

Community Groups and Service Providers are welcome to book in for a session about recycling, resources, and the circular economy. Sessions can be tailored to the need of your group and go for about an hour. Tours of the Wangaratta Organics Facility, JJ Richards Multi Resource Facility (MRF) or the Wangaratta Transfer Station are also available.
