Following the closure of Worland Road in Wangaratta for a period of 4 weeks the road is now open with traffic management of 40km/h in place. Installation & upgrade of stormwater & sewer services is now complete. Traffic Management will remain in place for the duration of the remediation works.
Rural City of Wangaratta have engaged Wangaratta Excavations to undertake road reconstruction works on Swan Street, Wangaratta. Road closures and detours will be in place.Prior to works commencing Variable Message Signs (VMS) will advise of road closures.Construction will commence on site from Wednesday 5 November with expected completion by 15 April 2026.
Traffic management will be in place for drainage and road works to be undertaken on the Milawa-Bobinawarrah Road in Milawa.Construction of a swale drain in Church Lane and intersection construction at Tarrango Terrace and the Milawa-Bobinawarah Road, Milawa.Works are due to commence in early March until mid-May 2026.Minor traffic delays may be experienced during these works.
Traffic Management will be in place on Woolshed Road in Glenrowan for drainage works.Works are scheduled to start on 7 April until 7 May 2026 weather permitting.
To improve pedestrian safety in the CBD, Council will be installing a new Pedestrian-Operated Traffic Signal on Reid Street (mid-block between Ovens and Murphy Streets). This upgrade is funded through the Victorian Safe System Pedestrian Infrastructure Program.Council is required by the Department of Transport to carry out a pavement investigation to inform the final design parameters.
Temporary road closure on Worland Road for Tuesday 14th April 2026.Worland Road will be closed from 7:30am until 3:00pm for pavement repair works on this day.Detours will be in place for the duration of the works.
