The Wangaratta Young Writers Award is run by the Rotary Club of Appin Park Wangaratta and Rotary Club of Wangaratta and is supported by Wangaratta Library.
Categories
The award recognises two types of writing in each of three grade categories.
Award categories:
Story (2000 word limit)
Poetry OR song lyrics (50 line limit)
Upper Primary: Years 5 and 6
Lower Secondary: Years 7, 8 and 9
Upper Secondary: Years 10, 11 and 12 and young people not at school aged 19 and under
Prizes:
Each category has a first, second and third prize, and winning entries will also be published in the Wangaratta Chronicle.
First Prize - $125
Second prize - $50
Third prize - $25
