Our team's Nature Diaries - June 2025
Published on 10 June 2025
With the recent rainfall, everyone has breathed a sigh of relief, and we are waiting with anticipation to commence planting season.
There are 7000 plants waiting in the nursery ready to be planted across the council area. All the plants have been carefully propagated and raised ready for planting.
The Schools Tree Day and National Tree Day planting events will add to a corridor of vegetation along the rail trail reserve, further extending last year’s efforts. Schools Tree Day provides a great opportunity for kids to get their hands dirty and make a difference, providing an opportunity for them to watch over the trees they planted and see them grow as they grow over the years.
Planting these vegetation corridors helps to restore our natural habitat and act as a busy though fare for our native wildlife on their way to precious remnant patches of native vegetation. We too get to enjoy them, I know I feel a great sense of achievement looking back at all the trees once they are planted.
