Wangaratta Seniors Festival 2025

The Rural City of Wangaratta proudly presents the 2025 Victorian Seniors Festival, a month-long celebration of community, creativity, and connection. With over 170 events scheduled across October, this year’s festival invites older residents to explore new interests, reconnect with others, and celebrate the journey of ageing.
About the Festival
The Victorian Seniors Festival is a statewide initiative that promotes active ageing and social participation for people aged 60 and over. In Wangaratta, the festival is supported by local community groups, volunteers, and businesses, offering a diverse program of free and low-cost events.
Festival Highlights
- Live Performances: Music from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, tribute shows featuring Shirley Bassey, Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe, and local talent including the Wangaratta Concert Band and Jus Gordon.
- Workshops and Classes: Scrapbooking, Italian cooking, digital mentoring, art groups, and woodworking.
- Fitness and Wellbeing: Pilates, Zumba, Lifeball, croquet, chair cardio, and online fitness sessions tailored for all abilities.
- Community Events: High teas, open gardens, market days, and the Grit and Resilience Festival.
- Learning and Discovery: Topics like ancestry DNA, cryptic crosswords, archaeology, and economics through U3A classes and library sessions.
- Special Events: Caring & Ageing Well Festival, and the Hall Stories Rural Towns Tour.
- G’Day Glenrowan Market & Street Activation.

Free Public Transport
Victorian Seniors Card holders can enjoy free public transport from 5 to 12 October 2025.
