Flood affected residents across the Rural City of Wangaratta will be able to dispose of damaged materials without charge with a flood waste waiver.

Rural City of Wangaratta will issue waivers for waste disposal fees on request from residents. These must be received before going to a transfer station.

Marcus Goonan, Director of Community and Infrastructure said, “This initiative is practical support for people who have sustained flood damage to their property.”

“I encourage people to apply for a waiver before going to a transfer station, the process is quick and easy and our Waste Team are available to answer any questions you may have,” said Mr Goonan.

Waste transfer stations are situated at Wangaratta, Markwood, Moyhu and Eldorado.

Council requires a small amount of information to assess applications for the fee waivers.

This includes providing your name, address, the property impacted and information of waste materials to be disposed of. Photographs may be useful and may be requested in this process.
