Rural City of Wangaratta ratepayers have a chance to win by registering to receive rates notices by email.
All ratepayers who register to receive their rates notices by email before 23 February 2026 will go in the draw to win up to $500 off their 2025-26 rates bill.*
All ratepayers already receiving email rate notices will be automatically entered into the draw.

Draw Terms & Conditions
- The promoter is Wangaratta Rural City Council, 62-68 Ovens St Wangaratta VIC 3676
- Only individuals who have registered to receive their Wangaratta Rural City Council rates notice electronically through Monday 23 February 2026 will be entered into the draw and eligible to win.
- Employees of Wangaratta Rural City Council are not eligible to win. Rates notices where Council employees are listed as a property owner will not be eligible or entered into the draw.
- There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter the draw.
- By entering an entrant is indicating their agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
- Only one registration and one entry will be accepted per rates notice. Multiple entries from the same person will be considered as one entry, regardless of the number of rates notices an individual registers to receive.
- Entries will close at 4:59pm on Monday 23 February 2026. Any ratepayers who have registered to receive their rates notices electronically via the Rural City of Wangaratta website prior to this date will automatically be entered into the draw.
- No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received due to technical issues.
- Individuals must register to receive their Council rates notice electronically via the Rural City of Wangaratta website to ensure entry to the draw.
- One winner will be drawn randomly from contact details provided in the registration form.
- The prize is the value of $500 off the winner’s 2025-26 Wangaratta Rural City Council rates bill. Where the winners’ rates bill balance is less than $500, any remaining value will apply as a credit to their 26/27 rates bill.
- The prize will be applied as a credit to the winner’s Wangaratta Rural City Council rates account within 28 days of the draw closing date.
- The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prize is not transferable.
- The winner will be notified by telephone and via email.
- If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim their prize within 28 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
- Wangaratta Rural City Council will notify the winner when the prize is applied as a credit to their rates account.
- The promoter’s decision in respect to all matters to do with the draw will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The draw and these Terms and Conditions will be governed by Australian law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
- The winner agrees to the use of their name and photograph in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current Australian privacy laws and will not be disclosed to a third party without the winner’s prior consent.
- The winner’s name will be published in the Wangaratta Chronicle newspaper within 28 days of the draw closing date.
- This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or any other social network. Entrants are providing their information to Wangaratta Rural City Council and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with Wangaratta Rural City Council’s Privacy Statement which can be found at: https://www.wangaratta.vic.gov.au/Privacy
- Wangaratta Rural City Council shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these Terms and Conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this website.
- Wangaratta Rural City Council also reserves the right to cancel the draw if circumstances arise outside of its control.
