16 Days of Activism across the Rural City of Wangaratta Published on 05 December 2022 Rural City of Wangaratta supports 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. This campaign began on 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and runs until International Human Rights Day on 10 December.This year the campaign encourages people to call out sexism, sexual harassment, and disrespect towards women: Respect Women: Call It Out. Council and community work to upgrade Milawa Hall Published on 02 November 2022 Milawa Hall has had a new lease on life after the Milawa community led by the Hall Committee worked with Council to save the historic and much used social hub of the township. Mayor's letter to residents Published on 28 October 2022 We are facing another challenging time with the flood event of last week continuing to impact many residents, particularly those on waterways and in rural areas of our municipality. Light up the dark on our shared path network Published on 05 September 2022 Rural City of Wangaratta is pleased to be undertaking a new initiative to help light up the dark places on our walking and cycling shared path network.From 5 September until 5 October, cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use the Snap Send Solve app to report places on footpaths, walkways and the shared path network that aren’t well lit or don’t feel safe. Flooding closes Parkour Park Published on 30 August 2022 Parkour Park at Wangaratta’s Apex Park Regional Playspace is closed due to flooding. Ongoing rainfall and high river levels have caused inundation of the area and temporary fencing has been installed to restrict access to the parkour facilities.
