Tourism Events Grants Open

Community groups, tourism operators and festival organisers in the Rural City of Wangaratta are invited to make their event dreams come true through Council’s Tourism Event Grants Program.
Grants of up to $2000 are available for minor events, and up to $5000 for major and marquee events, with applications now open.
Cr Harry Bussell said, "Event organisers host some amazing events across the municipality that attract attention from across Victoria, Melbourne and southern NSW."

“Past events that have received funding include the Off Grid Living Festival at Eldorado, the King Valley Balloon Festival, La Dolce Vita weekend and many more great events.”

The program aims to support the growth of events that increase visitation to the region and enhance Wangaratta as a holiday destination. Events provide an economic benefit locally, enhance the culture of the community, and support and increase the viability and sustainability of local tourism.
There is $20,000 available to eligible events in this round of funding. Applications may include costs associated with marketing, promotional materials and advertising, strategic or business plans for event development, new innovations or additional activities to expand an event program or costs associated with securing or hosting an event.
The Tourism Event Grant Program opens on Monday 19 September and closes at 3pm on Friday 14 October 2022.
Events supported under this program must take place between January 1 and June 30, 2023 and have a strong tourism focus that demonstrate the potential to the region as a destination for tourists.
