Historic Car enthusiasts – hold tight for a massive 2022 season!

Wangaratta is the place to be if you are a motoring enthusiast.

Following the success of the Wangaratta Historic Motor Show & Fly In last April, the 2022 season is full of exciting car events!

With the attraction of the surrounding valleys, wineries and abundance of offerings, the Rural City of Wangaratta is proving to be the pick of hot spots for car clubs.

Planning is already underway for the following groups:

  • Wangaratta Rod & Custom Club’s Rod Run is preparing to come back to its roots at the Showgrounds for the Labour Day weekend in March 2022. The first ever Rod Run was held at the Showgrounds in 1981, so it’s sure to be a classic event.
  • Early Holden Car Club Wangaratta Inc’s All GM Day – The All GM Day attracts people from all over Victoria and NSW. In 2020, there were over 250 General Motors vehicles on display. Planned for March 2022.
  • Australian Ariel Register’s Vintage and Classic Motorcycle Club Rally – The AAR holds an annual rally in a different locality each year. The next AAR annual rally will be held in Wangaratta in April 2022.
  • Bristol Owner's Club’s National Rally – British exclusivity and luxury will be on show in April 2022 when the rare hand-built cars come to Wangaratta for their national rally.
  • Chrysler Restorer’s Club of Victoria’s National Rally – September 2022.

Mayor Dean Rees said, “Wangaratta has always been the home to many motor enthusiasts, so it’s fantastic that our municipality is being recognised as the perfect hub to host these types of events”.

“After over a year of many cancellations, it’ll be great to see Wangaratta coming to life with events again!”
