Rural City of Wangaratta is encouraging residents who are not hitting the Hume Highway, or roads less travelled this June long weekend, to consider supporting our businesses by shopping locally.

As part of this shop local campaign, Council is proudly supporting the Wangaratta Farmers Market on Saturday June 11 by covering stallholder fees.

“The morning is a must do for all locals, especially those hosting guests from further afield,” Rural City of Wangaratta Mayor Dean Rees said.

Running from 8am until 12 noon,  Wangaratta Farmers Market features live entertainment, a full market of stallholders and the popular bacon and egg rolls made 100 per cent using local produce.

“It is important that we continue to support local businesses and producers through the winter months,” Mayor Rees said.

“Getting behind our local businesses helps us give back to businesses who often support local initiatives and sporting clubs and helps us grow a stronger and more resilient community”.

The Wangaratta Farmers Market takes place on the second Saturday of each month at the Trinity Cathedral Lawn along Docker Street in Wangaratta.
