Financial Plan

Help shape our 10-year
Financial Plan

We’re calling on our community to provide their ideas for a 10-Year Financial Plan to deliver on our vision for the Rural City of Wangaratta.

Completing a quick five-minute survey is all that it will take to have your say on Council’s spending and revenue strategy over the next decade.

The Financial Plan is a long-term plan to finance projects, initiatives and programs that our community thinks are most important to the Rural City of Wangaratta. It funds delivery of the priorities and actions identified in the Community Vision and Council Plan 2021-25, which were developed in collaboration with our community.

The Financial Plan also ensures that ongoing funding is in place for essential services that Council provides on a daily basis, such as roads maintenance, waste, and Children’s and Aged Care services.

"Every day we engage with an increasingly diverse range of people who are experiencing different life stages, lived experiences, needs and aspirations,” Mayor Dean Rees said.

“Our Financial Plan reflects the broad range of services we deliver to our community in each of those your life stages.”

He added, “It is vital that we involve our community in the process of developing our 10-Year Financial Plan, ensuring there is an opportunity to contribute to our revenue and spending strategy.”

Council will use information from the survey to develop a Financial Plan that is reflective of views of our municipality.

The survey is open from 29 July and closes on 12 August, and can be found on Council’s website: www.wangaratta.vic.gov.au/10-Year-Financial-Plan
