Council Adopts Key Strategic Documents for Wangaratta’s Future

The Rural City of Wangaratta formally adopted three strategic documents at its October Council meeting: the Council Plan 2025-2029 (including the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan), the Financial Plan 2025-2035, and the Annual Report 2024-25.

Developing our Council Plan 2025-2029

We want to know what you think about the Draft Council Plan 2025-2029 The Council Plan sets out our direction for the next four years, focusing on four key priorities: Community Wellbeing, Natural Environment, Economy and Tourism, and Infrastructure and Place.

Domestic Animal Management Plan

The Domestic Animal Management Plan sets out procedures for managing dogs and cats, which will then determine how we invest our time and resources. The plan outlines how Council will support domestic animal management, including the safety and wellbeing of the wider community.

Youth Strategy

We've worked with young people in the community to create a new Youth Strategy – Level Up Youth. The strategy was developed from the input of over 800 responses to our What YOUth WANT census, and guidance from the co-design group made up of five local young people.
