Calling future leaders - Nominations Now Open!
The Rural City of Wangaratta is now inviting young people to step up, speak out, and make a difference by nominating for the 2026 RCOW Youth Council.
This is a unique opportunity for young people to help shape the future of our region. The RCOW Youth Council is made up of up to eight local young people aged 14–18 who meet regularly to discuss youth issues, participate in workshops and training, and engage in self-development activities. Members are appointed to one-year terms from January to December.
The Youth Council Advisory Committee plays a vital role in promoting inclusivity, civic education, and youth involvement in planning and decision-making. It advises Council on matters affecting young people, encourages active participation in community life, and fosters leadership and governance skills. Through regular consultation and formal recommendations, the committee identifies youth concerns, proposes solutions, and contributes to events and programs that benefit the broader community.
