Youth Council
Our Youth Council is helping to shape the future of Wangaratta!
Our Youth Council is a group of up to 8 young people between the age of 14-18 who meet regularly to discuss youth issues, take part in leadership forums and self-development activities. The Youth Council are appointed to one-year terms from January to December.
The Youth Council Advisory Committee aims to give young people a voice in local government by advising Council on youth issues, encouraging participation in community life, and building leadership skills. It promotes inclusivity, civic education, and youth involvement in planning and decision-making.
The committee identifies youth concerns, proposes solutions, and contributes to events and programs. It advises Council, represents youth perspectives, and helps shape strategic planning through regular consultation and formal recommendations.
Applications for the Youth Council are open now and close 11October 2025 at 8.00pm!
