Owning Multiple Animals

The Rural City of Wangaratta has set clear guidelines on the number and types of animals that can be kept on residential and commercial properties.

Need More Animals?
If you wish to keep more animals than allowed, or types that are otherwise restricted, you’ll need to apply for a Council Permit.
Prohibited Animals
Some animals, such as roosters, pigs, and large livestock, are prohibited on smaller properties due to noise, odour, and space concerns.
