Softball returned to the Wangaratta Rangers in 2023 after a 20-year break, adding another exciting summer sport for the community. The club now fields a senior women’s team along with mixed junior teams in Under-14 and Under-12 divisions, competing in the Albury Wodonga Softball Association competition.
Played from October to March, the softball program provides opportunities for both new and experienced players, with a strong emphasis on fun, teamwork, and inclusivity. It caters to a wide range of ages and abilities, complementing the club’s year-round offering of baseball in winter and T-Ball in spring.
Home games are held at Targoora Park, where players benefit from quality facilities including four diamonds, a clubhouse, and licensed canteen. The return of softball has strengthened the Rangers’ commitment to supporting female participation and providing sporting opportunities for the whole community.
The program is designed to encourage growth, skill development, and pathways, ensuring that players can enjoy social competition while also striving for higher levels of performance
