Eldorado residents and community groups are invited to help decide how $120,000 in Rural City of Wangaratta funding should be used for local infrastructure improvements.

Council has allocated the funding in its 2026/2027 budget through the Rural Placemaking Project and is seeking community feedback on which infrastructure projects should proceed within the available budget.

The consultation will revisit priorities identified by the Eldorado community in 2018 and included in the Rural Placemaking Ovens Valley District Plan.

Rural City of Wangaratta Mayor Irene Grant said rural placemaking helped communities identify the improvements that mattered most to them.

“Eldorado residents know their town best, and their feedback will help guide how this funding is used. Whether you helped develop the original priorities or have recently moved to Eldorado, we want to hear your ideas.”

Residents can confirm whether the 2018 priorities remain relevant, suggest new projects, and identify improvements that could be delivered within the available funding.

Community members can speak with Council staff, discuss ideas and get help completing the survey at two drop-in sessions:

Tuesday 10 November, 4pm to 5.30pm, Eldorado Hall
Thursday 19 November, 11.30am to 1pm, Gun House Park, Eldorado

People who cannot attend a session can complete the survey and suggest projects online through Connect Wangaratta until Tuesday 1 December 2026.
