GeekCon 2026

GeekCon is Wangaratta’s comic, gaming, and pop culture convention, with events, stalls, competitions, and activities to entice all ages and abilities. Much like the major conventions in our capital cities, GeekCon aims to make popular culture such as comics, Cosplay and gaming more accessible to rural people who may not have the means to attend the larger conventions.

Library staff in conjunction with the Rural City of Wangaratta, Engage and Amplify will coordinate this event as part of Victorian Youth Fest, as supported by the Victorian Government. Youth Fest is an annual month-long celebration of young people (aged 12–25) across Victoria. It provides an opportunity for youth to express their ideas and views, and act on issues that affect their lives. It also lets them have a lot of fun.  Although our convention is held as part of Victorian Youth Fest, this event is for people of all ages.

We hope that this year can exceed all expectations and make it our best convention to date.
