Mental Health Support Card & Poster

The Grit and Resilience Program worked with our community to develop a wallet sized Mental Health Support Card as a practical guide to accessing mental health support in our area and assist people to know where to find help in times of crisis.

Community Event Planning Guide

Are you involved in an organisation doing great work in our community?

Have you got a bright idea for a community get-together that will increase participation and strengthen community connections and wellbeing? We can help make it happen!

This Guide has been put together to assist with your planning. There is a bit to consider when you put on an event, but it is not difficult, and we are here to help.

Our community told us they would like more events, activities, and community gatherings where everyone is valued, supported, and encouraged to participate and connect. In partnership with Alpine Valley Community Leadership Program, and through consultation with a variety of local services and clubs, this Community Event Planning Guide was designed to help groups, clubs, and services to create an event that will encourage people to join in and become more involved in their community.

Old School Night Out- How To Guide

Bring your community together the old‑school way.
After travelling through rural towns and co‑creating the Old School Night Out events alongside passionate community halls and local groups, we realised just how much joy, connection and creativity these nights can spark. A huge thank you to every hall committee, volunteer and organiser who shared their ideas, time and lived experience with us- this guide wouldn’t exist without you.

We’ve gathered everything we learned together into a simple, practical how‑to guide designed for community groups of any size. Whether you’re recreating your own Old School Night Out or planning a completely different community event, this guide gives you the tools, inspiration and confidence to make it happen.

Social Inclusion and Connection Resources

The Social Connection and Inclusion Needs of Wangaratta 2025

The Grit & Resilience Program’s Consortium (2023-2025) of community and agency representatives, commissioned a ‘Connection Needs Analysis’ to increase their awareness and understanding of social connection needs and dynamics in the RCOW.

The Analysis focused on connection needs at the community-scale matching the Consortium’s scale of focus and intervention.
