The Rural City of Wangaratta is pleased to announce the recent naming of one of our CBD’s laneways. In honour of the late Graham and Lois Curtis, the lane adjacent to the Curtis Adams pharmacy they owned on Reid Street is now known as ‘Curtis Lane’. Long-time residents of Wangaratta, Graham and Lois were active members of the Wangaratta community with both being involved in numerous local groups. Rural City of Wangaratta Councillors endorsed the proposed name at their November 2021 meeting. Earlier this month, a plaque was installed on the external wall of Curtis Adams Pharmacy which highlights the name. “The installation of the plaque is such an important step in recognising these two extraordinary community members,” said Mayor Dean Rees. “Graham and Lois were hard working, respected business people and cherished members of this community, having this lane named after them is a small recognition of our appreciation of their contributions,” he said.
