Better Host Program: Helping Businesses Share Local Experiences

The Rural City of Wangaratta has launched the Better Host Program to support local businesses in creating memorable visitor experiences. The program is designed to help businesses share knowledge about the region, encouraging visitors to stay longer and explore more.

Visitors often seek genuine local recommendations, and businesses play a key role in shaping their experience. When visitors discover more of what the region offers, they are more likely to extend their stay and support local operators.

The Better Host Program is self-paced and features short travel videos showcasing Milawa, King Valley, Eldorado, Glenrowan and Wangaratta. Each video introduces local attractions and experiences, making it easier for staff members at participating businesses to confidently answer visitor questions. Practical resources, including the Official Visitor Guide, are provided to assist businesses in delivering informed and welcoming service.

Digital resources and a limited number of free promotional materials are available, including coasters, table toppers, and printed visitor guides.
