The Environment & Sustainability team recently collaborated with our colleagues in Council’s Economic Development team to create a suite of four practical checklists designed to help local businesses prepare for adverse weather conditions. These checklists, covering heatwaves, bushfires, storms and floods, offer clear prompts and considerations that support businesses in strengthening their readiness for these increasingly common and disruptive events. Checklists can be downloaded here.

This work represents an early component of a broader initiative to develop a fully comprehensive Business Continuity Toolkit, which will guide businesses through the process of assessing risks, planning responses, and building long-term resilience in the face of adverse weather.

To support the rollout of this toolkit, we will also be hosting a free workshop in May this year. Local businesses will be invited to attend and work through the full business continuity planning process with expert guidance, ensuring they leave with a tailored and actionable plan. Keep an eye out for details soon!
