Wangaratta Art Gallery is delighted to present Heartscape, a new exhibition of artwork by members of the Goulburn and North East Arts Alliance (GANEAA).

The exhibition showcases work across painting, printmaking, textiles, ceramics, sculpture, and video exploring the personal and emotional inspiration of members and more broadly, the human condition.

The works are richly inhabited by people, animals, homes, art, music, and the material world which members have experienced and inhabit, informed by the landscapes and cityscapes they visit, enjoy, and return to throughout life.

Established in 1999 and run by volunteers, GANEAA is a regional arts organisation whose mission is to foster arts in the community, increase value, practice in the arts, and enhance the cultural development of our region. They do this through facilitating communication across arts bodies in the region, providing education to the community and artists as well as opportunities for marketing and promotion of events and individuals.

There are currently 83 members, 25 which are represented in this exhibition.

The exhibition will be opened by Eric Nash, Director of Benalla Art Gallery on Saturday 18 November from 2.30pm. To book your free ticket to attend, please visit: https://www.wangarattaartgallery.com.au/Programs/Opening-Reception-Heartscape

Heartscape is open to the public from 18 November to 17 December 2023 in Gallery2, Wangaratta Art Gallery, located at 56 Ovens Street, Wangaratta. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Sunday, 10am - 4pm.
