Pedestrians and cyclists will soon have a wider, safer bridge at Rowan Street.During installation, Rowan Street will be closed to traffic in both directions from Baker Street to Green Street on Monday, 4 May, 7.30 am–5.00 pm. Signed detours will be in place.

Wangaratta Library will host Australian and USA Today bestselling author Victoria Purman for a literary afternoon celebrating the release of her latest novel, The Marriage Trap.
Victoria Purman is an award‑winning fiction writer whose novels include The Radio Hour and The Three Miss Allens, both national and international bestsellers. She is a regular guest at literary festivals and has served as a mentor and award judge.
At the Wangaratta event, Victoria Purman will appear in conversation with Liz from Edgars Books and News, discussing The Marriage Trap and her writing career.
The Marriage Trap explores the tumultuous social and cultural changes of the 1960s. Examining the introduction of the contraceptive pill, shifting expectations, rebellion, new ideas and fashions that influenced the lives of Australian women during a decade of significant change.
The event offers readers an opportunity to hear directly from one of Australia’s most widely read contemporary authors.
