Rural City of Wangaratta, in collaboration with Tourism North East, is aspiring to possess the best rail trail network in the Southern Hemisphere. The project will see 300 Solar lights being installed at 25m intervals along the existing 7km stretch of rail trail from the Snow Road Wangaratta-Whitfield intersection at Oxley to Brown Brothers Winery on Milawa Bobinawarrah Road. The new solar lights will be positioned on the roadside path and face towards property frontages. Installation of the solar lights will commence 13 May 2024, works are expected to be complete by 31 May 2024.
