Victorian Seniors Festival celebrations are underway across the Rural City of Wangaratta with 48 free or low-cost events taking place in the municipality. In addition to this celebration next week is National Carers Week, the perfect timing for Wangaratta’s Caring and Ageing Well Community Festival!

The Caring and Ageing Well Community Festival will be held on Wednesday 19 October 2022 from 10am to 2pm, at the Uniting Church Hall, Rowan Street Wangaratta with access from the King George V Gardens.

“The Festival will be a celebration of our community’s seniors and carers,” said Rural City of Wangaratta Mayor Cr Dean Rees.

“Bring down family members, friends and neighbours you think could benefit from information about services and supports to promote healthy ageing and that could assist carers.”

“There will also be information on how to stay active and connected to your community,” said Cr Rees.

“Rural City of Wangaratta is happy to honour and support seniors in our community, our seniors have worked hard to build Wangaratta to what it is today.”

“Next Wednesday is also an opportunity to show some care for our carers – the unsung backbone of our community.”

“We are all in this together, let's keep reaching out and supporting each other and celebrating all that we can!” said Cr Rees.

Please join the Caring and Ageing Well Community Festival next Wednesday 19 October 2022 from 10am – 2pm at the Uniting Church Hall, Rowan Street, Wangaratta.
