The Salvation Army Community Connections Day is coming to Wangaratta!

Join us on Wednesday 5 August, from 10am–2pm, at The Salvation Army, 59 Greta Road Wangaratta.

Free BBQ sausage sizzle lunch provided! Come along and enjoy a relaxed opportunity to connect with local services and community members.

Whether you are seeking support, information, or connection, this is an opportunity to have informal conversations with stallholders, learn about local services, and build connections within the community.

A range of community and support services will be attending, including:

  • Housing and homelessness
  • Crisis and emergency support
  • Financial assistance
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Community services and more

With homelessness and housing insecurity reaching unprecedented levels around Australia, events like this are an important way to bring services and community members together. The day also coincides with Homelessness Week (3–9 August 2026) and comes ahead of the upcoming Census, providing an opportunity to increase awareness of homelessness and supports available.

Attending organisations include NESAY, Junction, Beyond Housing, DFFH, Wangaratta Night Shelter/Zac’s Place, The Salvation Army Youth Justice and Care Finder programs, Open Door Neighbourhood House, MH Wellbeing Local, Mungabareena, Line, Switchboard, UMFC, Services Australia, NEMA, Wangaratta Council, Census and more.

Everyone is welcome. Come along, enjoy a free lunch, meet local services and find out how they may be able to support you or someone you know!
