The Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre (WSAC) is thrilled to announce the return of its popular Recreational Gymnastics Program, launching Thursday 24 July.

Following a pause during the Centre’s $12.4 million stadium expansion, the WSAC team has worked hard to redevelop the program—creating a structured, inclusive, and accessible experience for local children.

Tailored for kids aged 6 to 12 years, the program is designed to build movement skills, confidence, and social connection in a fun and supportive environment. Whether your child is new to gymnastics or has previous experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved.

“This program gives kids in our community a space to move, connect with others, and feel confident in a safe and inclusive environment,” said Leon Newton, Manager Sport Aquatic & Events.

Led by qualified and friendly instructors, each session focuses on progressive skill development, with an emphasis on technique, safety, and enjoyment. Children will explore a variety of gymnastics disciplines, including:

  • Floor work – Basic tumbling and movement patterns
  • Beam activities – Balance and coordination
  • General exercises – Body awareness, flexibility, and strength

Session times during the school term:

Wednesday

6 – 8 years: 5pm – 5.45pm

Thursday

6 – 9 years: 4pm - 4:45pm

9 – 12 years: 5pm -5:45pm
