The Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre (WSAC) is proud to host a week of free activities in celebration of Men’s Health Week, running from Monday, 9 June to Sunday, 15 June 2025.

This year’s theme, “Mind & Movement – Your Health, Your Way,” highlights that health is personal. Whether it’s through physical activity, meaningful conversations, or simply showing up, this week is about creating space for men and boys to connect, reflect, and recharge.

Mental and physical health go hand in hand. Research shared by Wangaratta’s Grit and Resilience team, in collaboration with Professor Jane Farmer, shows that being part of a community whether through events or local groups can significantly boost wellbeing.

During Men's Health Week, community members are invited to visit the WSAC for body scans and health assessments with a qualified personal trainer, plus join in for a selection of group fitness classes. The highlight of the week will be a Body Attack class, followed by a community BBQ on Friday 13th June.

The WSAC will also be featuring a discussion wall, a dedicated space for the community to share their thoughts and experiences to promote positive mental well-being. These events are designed with men, boys, and gender-diverse people in mind—but everyone is welcome. Whether you’re there to move, talk, or just be present, you’ll be in good company.

Leon Newton, Sports, Aquatics and Events Precinct Manager, encourages the community to get involved, “Men’s Health Week is a great reminder to check in with yourself and with your mates. These activities are free, and open to all. Whether you’re there for the fitness or the food, it’s a chance to connect and support each other.”

To book a health assessment or learn more, contact the WSAC on 5722 1723.
