Seniors 95 years and over across the Rural City of Wangaratta have received personal invitations from Council inviting them to a commemorative high tea in their honour.

Rural City of Wangaratta is celebrating those who have contributed so much to our community at a special function to be held at the Gateway Hotel on Wednesday 5 October 2022.

“We are incredibly pleased to be able to hold this celebration for the most senior members of our community,” said Mayor Cr Dean Rees.

“It is time to bring them together and show our appreciation for their contribution to our wonderful community.”

“Council’s Aged Care team have done a tremendous job in contacting those aged 95 plus across our municipality, and I with my fellow Rural City of Wangaratta Councillors, look forward to hosting and meeting with these special guests at the high tea event,” said Cr Rees.

Attendees will be entertained by renowned performer Paris Zachariou and will enjoy the comfort and high tea of the Gateway Hotel.

This event is the first calendar event of the Wangaratta Seniors Festival which will commence in full on 7 October and continue through until 23 October 2022.
