Since its grand opening in September last year, the Ned Kelly Discovery Hub has become a significant attraction in Glenrowan, welcoming over 38,000 visitors. This remarkable milestone surpasses the Rural City of Wangaratta’s initial expectations and reflects the overwhelming interest in Glenrowan's rich history.

Visitors and locals alike have lauded the hub for its immersive experience. By integrating the dramatic story of Ned Kelly with the area's cultural heritage and natural beauty, it offers a comprehensive, accessible educational experience that enriches understanding of the bushranger era.

The Ned Kelly Discovery Hub is about to move to its next phase with the installation of automated blinds, revealing the panoramic view overlooking the railway station. The Hub will also introduce admission fees for access to the interpretation area on the ground floor, effective Monday 25 March. However, access to the Visitor Information desk and the viewing platform will remain free.

The decision to implement admission fees follows careful consideration by Council. The initial opening months, September 2023 through to late March 2024 have allowed the community time to explore the Hub unhindered and to bring their friends and family along.

The fees will be reinvested in future upgrades and enhancements to the interpretation content, ensuring that the Hub remains a dynamic and informative destination for visitors, encouraging return visits to Glenrowan and its surrounding areas.

Don't miss your chance to experience the Ned Kelly Discovery Hub before the implementation of admission fees. Visit soon and immerse yourself in the fascinating history of Glenrowan.

"We believe The Ned Kelly Discovery Hub not only safeguards the enduring heritage of a national icon but also breathes new life into Glenrowan, fostering sustainable tourism and deeper connections with our local history. The Hub has surpassed our projections for drawing visitors to the region and as we transition into the next phase of development, the introduction of admission fees will enable us to continuously enhance and renew the educational content for years to come." Said Brendan McGrath CEO Rural City of Wangaratta

Admission fees: $5 for adults, $3 for pension/concession and school aged children free, from Monday 25 March. Group rates are available on request.
