Draft Procurement Policy 2019

Submissions are invited on Council’s Draft Procurement Policy 2019. Section 186A (7) of the Local Government Act 1989 requires Council to review its Procurement Policy at least once in a financial year, having regard to any guidelines made by the Minister with respect to form or content. Any changes arising from the review must be adopted by Council.

An electronic copy of the draft document can be downloaded below, and hard copies are available from the Wangaratta Government Centre during office hours.

Any person affected by the proposals may make a written submission relating to the draft documents.

Written submissions must be received before 5.00pm on Friday 31 May 2019. For details on how to make a submission, see the tab below.

Council's draft Brand Strategy is now on exhibition and submissions will be accepted until Monday 1 July 2019.

The strategy has been designed to drive investment, industry development and visitor attraction.

Cycling and Walking Strategy

The Rural City of Wangaratta are preparing a Walking and Cycling Strategy with the aim to increase the number of people walking and cycling in the Rural City of Wangaratta.

The strategy will identify the following:

  • Ways to make walking and cycling easier and more accessible and more enjoyable for more people. 
  • Priority improvements to the quality, safety and continuous nature of facilities to better connect people to where they want to go. 
  • What can be done to create a culture of cycling and walking in Wangaratta planning and management functions. 
  • How to encourage more people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to ride and walk for longer and more often.

Draft Wangaratta Health Precinct Structure Plan

The purpose of the Health Precinct Structure Plan (HPSP) is to develop a long-term guiding framework for land use and built form outcomes within the Health Precinct. 

The key objectives of the structure plan are to:

• Create a vision for the future of the precinct, balancing the growth and development of the Health Sector against the established residential land uses.

• Provide specific direction as to where the health and allied activities are to be located.

• Meet the healthcare needs of the municipality and the broader regional area.

• Create a vision and feel for the area that defines built form, open space design, landscape enhancements and entry points.

• Improve access and connectivity including appropriate car parking, walkability, safety, all ability access, public transport and emergency vehicle access.

• Demonstrate environmental sustainability.

Draft Wangaratta Health Precinct Structure Plan Community Drop-in Session

Councils Strategy team will be on hand to talk through and answer any questions the community may have in relation to the draft plan

How do I make a written submission?

Please note: Submissions are public documents and form part of the meeting minutes. Therefore submitters’ names and addresses will become part of the public record. 

In their written submission, a person may also request to be heard by a Committee of Council in support of their submission, prior to Council considering the proposal. Submitters will be notified before the relevant meeting date.

Submissions can be made:

By Email: council@wangaratta.vic.gov.au. Please include “The title of the proposal or document” in the subject line.

By Mail: PO Box 238, Wangaratta VIC 3676. Please include “The title of the proposal or document” as the reference.

In Person: You may submit your written submission to Customer Services, Wangaratta Government Centre – Corner Ford and Ovens Street, Wangaratta. Please include “The title of the proposal or document” as the reference to your submission.

Privacy

Submissions will be treated as public documents, with your name and details of your submissions to be made public unless you choose to opt out. Please fill in the form below if you would like your submission kept private.
