Natural Resource Management Officer

Permanent Part-Time, 3 days per week
$33.01 per hour

The Rural City of Wangaratta is currently seeking a motivated person for a Natural Resource Management (NRM) Officer role who will assist Council with the development and promotion of NRM and environmental events and programs. With the aim to provide Council and the community with information on best practices and guidelines on natural resource management and natural environment. The work will include research, project collaboration, and development of NRM Programs across local LGA, State and Federal agencies as well as community organisations. 

The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in environmental management, natural resource management or related discipline and/or relevant training and experience with a clear understanding of natural resource management and natural environment issues, impacts and event processes.

It will be essential to have excellent organisational, planning and time management skills and proven report writing and computer skills.  The role involves working both independently and cooperatively as part of a team and will require a current driver licence and working with children check.

Information Management Officer

Full Time, Temporary 12 month contract
$65,239.20 pa + super

We are currently looking for a motivated Information Management Officer to join our team who has previous experience in assisting with the administration coordination and management of records, information, archiving and storage systems.

In this position you will assist with the provision of records management related services to internal clients within Rural City of Wangaratta .You will also assist the team in developing and maintaining Council’s records management program, records training and promoting records management services, policies and procedures throughout the organisation.

This position will suit a person who is adaptable and reliable, who constantly works towards achieving individual and team goals. The ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and a high attention to detail is required.

Waste Services Operator (Truck Driver)

Full Time, Temporary 12 month contract
$55,432 pa + super

Council is seeking a motivated waste truck driver to provide a quality kerbside waste collection service for the rural and urban residences and businesses, as well as assist with other duties within the waste team.

You will need to hold a heavy rigid driver licence and preferably have experience in the operation of side loading waste compaction vehicles.  However, competent truck drivers without this experience will be considered.

You will also have a commitment to safe work practices and compliance with local and Victorian law and traffic regulations and service procedures, a courteous and friendly disposition with good customer service skills and the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.

Manager - Community and Recreation

$130,000 plus superannuation

We are looking for someone with bucket loads of energy, who has the ability to jump in and learn, and who understands what it takes to achieve in outcomes in the community sector. 

The role is diverse and challenging and involves the strategic and operational management of the following teams:

  • Projects and Recreation
  • Youth Development 
  • Aged and Community Care
  • Children’s Services Teams

The role is also the Emergency Recovery Manager for Council.

It is an exciting and busy role – no day will be the same! It requires the ability to navigate complex service provisions, plan and advocate for current and future projects, work closely with community groups, local organisations, and government departments, and lead the fantastic people that make up the team.

Concreter

Full Time

$55,432 pa + allowances

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated concreter to form part of our Concrete Team.  This position involves all aspects of concreting works including paving, kerb & channel, driveway crossovers and footpaths.

The successful applicant must have demonstrated skills and experience in carrying out general concreting construction and maintenance works including grinding, ramping, forming up, pouring and finishing, interpreting plans and drawings and setting out works using levelling equipment. Kerb machine experience would be preferred, but not essential.

Maternal Child Health Nurses

Casual Position

Rural City of Wangaratta is seeking dedicated nursing professionals who enjoy working with young children and families to provide maternal and child health services in various locations across the municipality.

The position requires current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia as both a registered nurse and a registered midwife and to also hold recognised qualifications in maternal and child health nursing (or pre 1998 equivalent), current driver’s licence and Working with Children Check.

The successful applicant must have an understanding of providing services within the current Local Government environment and share the MCH team’s commitment to delivering quality health and wellbeing services to families and children. 

Salary is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2016–2021.

Early Childhood Educators

Casual Positions Available
Diploma & Certificate III

We invite applications from suitably qualified Early Childhood Educators to join our team in a casual capacity. These positions involve providing a children’s program and educational practice that is stimulating, engaging and enhances the learning and development of all children, ranging in age from 0 to 6 years, attending our long day child care centre and kindergarten.

You will be required to have an approved Certificate III qualification and/or an approved Diploma level qualification, as per the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations. For all of these roles ideally you will have experience working in centre based child care.  You will also need a sound knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework or the Early Years Learning Framework, and the National Quality Framework, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.
