Manager – Finance

Temporary Full Time
2 year contract
$130,000 pa + super

Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Manager to lead our Finance Team. This is an excellent 2 year opportunity for someone looking for a change of scene in Victoria’s stunning High Country. 

This role requires tertiary qualifications in Accounting and a high level of technical expertise (both practical and theoretical) in accounting and financial matters. You will work in partnership with the Strategic Finance Projects Manager to advance council’s strategic and operational financial management.

The successful applicant must have well-developed interpersonal, communication,  and organisational skills as well as the ability to discuss, negotiate and resolve issues with all levels of staff, Council and external parties. 

This position is based in Wangaratta – assessed by CoreLogic as the top tree-change destination in Victoria – thanks to its proximity to gourmet food, world-class wineries, stunning scenery and fabulous outdoor activities. You won’t find a traffic jam in sight.

Event Support Officer

Part Time (3x days per week)

Are you creative, passionate and have a passion for events? We are looking for an exceptional Events Support Officer to join our Events Team to assist in the planning and delivery of a variety of Council run events.   

We are looking for someone with experience in events and working with the community, community groups and event organisers to coordinate the various event elements.  To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to think of your feet, work well in a busy environment and have strong administration and communication skills.

Administration Support Officer - People & Governance

Part Time, Temporary contract until April 2020
16 hours per week
$30.11 per hour

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Support Officer to assist in providing administrative support to the People & Governance team. This will include tasks relating to recruitment, training, payroll data entry, occupational health and safety, governance and reporting. This role is the main contact for all People & Governance related queries. 
You will need to be highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, together with excellent communication and customer service skills.  This is a busy role and you will also need the ability to effectively manage your time.

Gallery Officer

Gallery Technician

Drainage Crew Member

Full Time
$55,432 pa + super

We are seeking to appoint a motivated person to fill a full time position in our Drainage Team. This position offers a variety of tasks to assist the Drainage Crew including the inspection and maintenance of pipes, pits, culverts and open drains along with recording field information, street sweeping and general labouring duties.

Applicant must have a current medium rigid drivers licence and be able to demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team. 

Other current tickets preferred, but not essential, for this position include Front End Loader, Backhoe, OHS Construction Induction Card, First Aid Level 2, Utilise Stop / Slow Bat and Implement Traffic Control Plans.

Maternal Child Health Nurses

Casual Position

Rural City of Wangaratta is seeking dedicated nursing professionals who enjoy working with young children and families to provide maternal and child health services in various locations across the municipality.

The position requires current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia as both a registered nurse and a registered midwife and to also hold recognised qualifications in maternal and child health nursing (or pre 1998 equivalent), current driver’s licence and Working with Children Check.

The successful applicant must have an understanding of providing services within the current Local Government environment and share the MCH team’s commitment to delivering quality health and wellbeing services to families and children. 

Salary is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2016–2021.

Early Childhood Educators

Casual Positions Available
Diploma & Certificate III Qualified

We invite applications from suitably qualified Early Childhood Educators to join our team in a casual capacity. These positions involve providing a children’s program and educational practice that is stimulating, engaging and enhances the learning and development of all children, ranging in age from 0 to 6 years, attending our long day child care centre and kindergarten.

You will be required to have an approved Certificate III qualification and/or an approved Diploma level qualification, as per the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations. For all of these roles ideally you will have experience working in centre based child care.  You will also need a sound knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework or the Early Years Learning Framework, and the National Quality Framework, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.
