Governance & Reporting Advisor

Full Time Temporary 
12 month parental leave position
$85,264.43 pa + super

Are you a pragmatic governance practitioner, or policy adviser, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills who wants to engage stakeholders in compliance and reporting?

This position is responsible for ensuring that tools, frameworks and systems are in place to enable Council to operate appropriately, ethically and transparently.  You will engage stakeholders in compliance; risk management; policy development and implementation; information management; and reporting.  You will also provide secretariat services to the Audit Advisory Committee. In 2020, the role will assist with the conduct of the Council elections and support the development of the Council Plan.

Waste Services Operator (Truck Driver)

Full Time
$56,472.00 pa + super

Council is seeking a motivated waste truck driver to provide a quality kerbside waste collection service for the rural and urban residences and businesses, as well as assist with other duties within the waste team.

You will need to hold a heavy rigid driver licence and preferably have experience in the operation of side loading waste compaction vehicles.  However, competent truck drivers without this experience will be considered.

You will also have a commitment to safe work practices and compliance with local and Victorian law and traffic regulations and service procedures, a courteous and friendly disposition with good customer service skills and the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.

Procurement Specialist

Full Time
$85,264.43 pa + super

Do you have a passion for Procurement? In this position you will be responsible for defining, delivering and embedding the strategy for Council’s procurement activities, supporting and partnering across all levels of Council operations to ensure effective, compliant and efficient procurement practices. 

You will have strong experience in procurement roles and have a collaborative mindset and ability to develop trusting advisory relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.  You will bring an innovative approach to procurement in Local Government and be able to drive improvements to supply category management across the organisation.

You will get experience in a diverse range of projects, with Council undertaking significant capital works programs now and into the future.  

This position is based in Wangaratta – assessed by CoreLogic as the top tree-change destination in Victoria – thanks to its proximity to gourmet food, world-class wineries, stunning scenery and fabulous outdoor activities. You won’t find a traffic jam in sight.

Financial Coordinator

Full Time
$85,264.43 pa + super

We are looking for a talented, skilled and enthusiastic person to join our Finance team as the Financial Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager Finance, this role will be providing value through the efficient and effective provision of financial management systems and administration of the Finance Unit, initiate and implement sound and appropriate financial control in accordance with statutory requirements and ensure that accounting records are kept up to date in the prescribed manner and that funds are managed in the best interests of the Council at all times. The role oversees the delivery of Accounts Payable and Accounting section. 

Your ability to be proactive and work collaboratively will be paramount to your success.  Personal qualities that you bring will include strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to quickly analyse and solve potential issues and an ability to plan and prioritise work.  In addition, you will have energy and enthusiasm, thrive under a dynamic and energetic work environment and have the capacity to proactively work under pressure and meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will have qualifications in Accounting with experience working within a finance department.  If you are a high achieving, motivated, enthusiastic and performance driven person we would love to hear from you.
