The Rural City of Wangaratta is seeking to appoint our next Director Corporate Services. Executive Assistant - Corporate Services & Councillors

Full Time Temporary 12 month contract
$62,119.20 pa + super

If so, this is a brilliant opportunity to join our team at the Wangaratta Rural City Council.

Your new company: We are seeking an organised and motivated Executive Assistant to support our Director Corporate Services and Councillors.

Your new role: You will work within Council’s Executive Services Team, reporting directly to the Executive Services Coordinator, assisting both the Director Corporate Services and the Councillors. You will provide assistance to the Director and Councillors through scheduling of meetings, appointments, travel arrangements and other administrative support.

Coordinating the preparation and distribution of agendas and minutes for meetings, Councillors Briefing Forums and Council Meetings and the follow-up action plans resulting from Council decision making. You will also assist in the provision of governance arrangements across the organisation including maintaining statutory registers and records, register of delegations, relevant policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed: To be successful in this role, you will be patient, highly flexible in your work approach and have a proactive attitude. Great organisational skills, attention to detail and superior communications skills are essential for the role. You will have the ability to gain the cooperation of staff and be able to work under pressure in a challenging and stimulating work environment to ensure deadlines are met.

You will be required to work both independently and as part of a team. The role is fulltime with some after hours work expected.

General Manager - Wangaratta Livestock Exchange

Wangaratta Livestock Exchange (WLE) is being established as an independent company owned by the Rural City of Wangaratta.  Run by a Board of Directors, with Chairman, John Muraca, at the helm, this new structure provides the opportunity for a General Manager to work with the Board in setting the direction for WLE, increasing throughput and maintaining quality standards and service.

You will have great people skills, with the ability to relate to producers, agents and buyers. You will be able to support the Board administratively.  You will be tech savvy, with the skills to maintain the WLE in good order and able to work flexible hours.

The Rural City of Wangaratta is seeking to appoint an experienced Director Corporate Services with the vision to deliver against our Community Promise and Council Plan.  You will be responsible for providing leadership in customer service, finance, information services, media, communications, people and governance.

Your outstanding communication skills will ensure you develop positive working relationships with Council, the community, staff and other stakeholders.  You will have finance or business management qualifications, together with experience at director level and within local government.

Maternal Child Health Nurse

Casual Position

Rural City of Wangaratta is seeking dedicated nursing professionals who enjoy working with young children and families to provide maternal and child health services in various locations across the municipality.

The position requires current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia as both a registered nurse and a registered midwife and to also hold recognised qualifications in maternal and child health nursing (or pre 1998 equivalent), current driver’s licence and Working with Children Check.

The successful applicant must have an understanding of providing services within the current Local Government environment and share the MCH team’s commitment to delivering quality health and wellbeing services to families and children. 

Salary is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2016–2021.
