The Rural City of Wangaratta is seeking three full time Project Managers to work in our newly formed capital Project Delivery Team.  These roles are ideal for someone who has strong project management, construction management or civil engineering experience in an exciting Project Delivery Team, delivering projects for our community. 

You will get experience in a diverse range of projects ranging from civil construction, building construction, upgrades to community and sporting facilities and waste management.  Wangaratta and its surrounding townships offers an enviable lifestyle for individuals and families.

Capex Projects Systems Officer

The Rural City of Wangaratta is seeking a full time Capex Projects Systems Officer to provide systems ownership and support of a newly implemented project selection, planning, and project management system within our capital Project Delivery Team. 

This role is ideal for someone who has strong ICT, people, time management and presentation skills and has a passion for using and enhancing systems to support business processes.  You will be working in an exciting project management environment, delivering projects for our community. 

The Project Delivery Team is implementing new technology to support a common approach to the delivery of our ambitious capital works program so this is an ideal opportunity to influence change and assist the team to be successful.  You will get experience in supporting a range of projects ranging from civil construction, building construction, upgrades to community and sporting facilities and waste management.

The Rural City of Wangaratta is seeking a full time Projects Officer to provide project support to Project Managers in our capital Project Delivery Team.  This role is ideal for someone who has strong organisational, administration and scheduling skills and is seeking to develop their skills in an exciting project management environment, delivering projects for our community. 

The Project Delivery Team is implementing new technology to support a common approach to the delivery of our ambitious capital works program so the ideal applicant will have good PC skills and a good eye for detail.  You will get experience in a diverse range of projects ranging from civil construction, building construction, upgrades to community and sporting facilities and waste management.

Planning Compliance Officer

This exciting, diverse and rewarding role provides protection to the community whilst delivering a quality and professional service.  The main emphasis of this position is to ensure compliance with Council's Planning Scheme, the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and other relevant legislation.

The role is a part of a team specialising in community compliance across a range of disciplines.  As part of this team you will have the opportunity to impart your planning compliance specialist knowledge whilst being a team player in the larger community compliance team.

Planner

We have an opportunity for a Planner to join our team of enthusiastic planning staff.  In this role, you will be involved with an interesting and diverse workload encompassing all facets of local government planning functions such as assessment of planning applications and handling planning enquiries and thus enabling you to have an influence on the way in which the municipality will develop into the future.

The successful candidate will have a university degree in planning, excellent communication and well developed customer service skills.

Community Care Worker

General Domestic / Personal Care
Casual Position
$33.09 per hour (including 25% casual loading)

Council is seeking a  skilled casual community care worker to provide efficient and caring services for older people and people with disabilities, who require assistance to remain living in their own homes.

Carers are required to be available for occasional domestic support, personal care or respite support which may involve some outside of normal hours work, including weekends and public holidays.

Applicants will be required for immediate start so you must have all of the following prerequisites; Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent, a current Police Record check, a current First Aid Certificate Level 2 and a current driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.

As this position is casual, the hours of work will vary.  Fixed or regular hours cannot be guaranteed.

Development Engineer

Children’s and Youth Services Officer – Wangaratta Library

Full Time
$28.98 per hour

Wangaratta Library is seeking an out-going, community oriented person with sound inter-personal skills to deliver a friendly, customer focussed service.  As Children’s and  Youth Services Officer, in addition to day-to-day services to all library users, key responsibilities will include developing children's and young adult programs, school holiday activities and promoting library services and collections to schools and kindergartens.

VCE, previous library experience or progress towards a library qualification is essential. Applicants must have good computer skills and knowledge of popular literature.  This permanent full-time position involves working 70 hours per fortnight including rostered evening and Saturday shifts.

Support Officer - Infrastructure

Full Time Temporary

Infrastructure Services is a dynamic department and this role will assist the Executive Assistant in providing quality administrative support to the Infrastructure Planning & Delivery and Field Services units. This position could be considered for job-sharing to full time equivalent.

The successful applicant will have a Certificate III in Business, or equivalent, and / or extensive administration experience.  Strong computer skills will be essential and you will have the ability to work to deadlines and manage your time. You will also be a team player and demonstrate good communication skills.  A current driver licence is required.

Early Childhood Educators

  • Casual – Diploma; $35.66 per hour
  • Casual - Certificate III; $33.09 per hour

We invite applications from suitably qualified Early Childhood Educators to join our casual pool. These positions involve providing a children’s program and educational practice that is stimulating, engaging and enhances the learning and development of all children, ranging in age from 0 to 6 years, attending our long day child care centre and kindergarten.

You will need to hold approved qualifications (either Certificate III or Diploma level qualifications), as per the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations. For all of these roles ideally you will have experience working in centre based child care.  You will also need a sound knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework or the Early Years Learning Framework, and the National Quality Framework, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.

Maternal Child Health Nurse

Casual Position

Rural City of Wangaratta is seeking dedicated nursing professionals who enjoy working with young children and families to provide maternal and child health services in various locations across the municipality.

The position requires current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia as both a registered nurse and a registered midwife and to also hold recognised qualifications in maternal and child health nursing (or pre 1998 equivalent), current driver’s licence and Working with Children Check.

The successful applicant must have an understanding of providing services within the current Local Government environment and share the MCH team’s commitment to delivering quality health and wellbeing services to families and children. 

Salary is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2016–2021.
