Wangaratta Parklands Relief Centre
The Rural City of Wangaratta has successfully received $2M funding from the Commonwealth Government as part of the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants.
This project is to upgrade and align with the Wangaratta Parklands Showgrounds Precinct to enable Council to better prepare, coordinate and facilitate a seamless relief centre operation during an emergency.
The project will also assist to deliver key outcomes identified as part of the Parklands Masterplan.

- Framework and external cladding has been installed
- Fit out to occur early in 2024
Works are now complete on the following projects:
- Improvements to the Wangaratta Rodeo grounds - site levelling, electrical upgrades and sewer pump
- Expansion of the Wangaratta Kennel & Obedience Dog Club - installation of a new meeting room
- Provision of cooling and heating to the existing Sports Development Centre
