Event Bins

Council has specialised bins available for hire by organisers of events in public spaces that normally would not have adequate waste service provisions in place for the proposed increased use.

Organisers of events have a responsibility to reduce, reuse and recycle waste that is generated from an event, applicants, in the registration process must demonstrate evidence of adequate waste management provisions. Council can assist organisers by providing ‘event bins’ in sets (general waste and recycling) these bins are colour coded in line with the kerbside collection service to ensure visitors are familiar with use. Council can provide General Waste & Recycling Bins in sets ($24.50ea)

Organics Bins can also be applied for (at an additional $12.50ea) however contamination control measures need to be arranged and agreed to by the applicant.

‘Event Bins’ can be provided by Council for events that are:

  • Within Council managed land and/or open spaces (or in areas adjacent)  
  • Within publicly accessible recreation reserves.
  • Are Council supported/endorsed events.

Council will deliver and clear bins from an agreed location within normal business hours only, arrangements for additional collections after hours or on weekends will attract further charges.

Addition clearances after hours can only be undertaken pending availability of Council and contractor resources at time of event, due to this we request that applications are submitted 6 weeks in advance of the event.
