Rural City of Wangaratta, in collaboration with the Victorian State Government, is pleased to launch the Wangaratta Seniors Festival 2022.

The festival program features 48 free or low-cost events taking place between 7 and 23 October 2022 across the municipality.

The theme of this year’s Victorian Seniors Festival, “Takin’ it Easy”, is an acknowledgement of our busy lifestyles, and a timely reminder to take a breath and reflect on a lifetime of experience and accomplishments.

“This program aims to connect people and build resilient communities,” said Rural City of Wangaratta Mayor Cr Dean Rees.

“Togetherness and ongoing connectedness strengthen our communities and play an integral part in our wellbeing.”

“I acknowledge the dedication of volunteers and community groups that collectively bring culture, connection, social interaction, and history to our region. These same people make up a large portion of those presenting events in the Wangaratta Seniors Festival program, so I encourage our senior community members to take this opportunity to get involved or try something new!” said Cr Rees.

There are two events now open for bookings: Finding Elvis, 2.30pm Tuesday 11 October, this performance includes afternoon tea and is taking place at the Wangaratta Performing Arts & Convention Centre, Memorial Hall. Tickets for this event are $20 and bookings are essential.

Seniors Festival Country Concert, 2.30pm Friday 21 October, 2.30pm: featuring James Blundell taking place at the Wangaratta Performing Arts & Convention Centre, Memorial Hall. This is a free event; however, bookings are required.
