Railway Precinct Project - 12 month period - (Updated 16 October 2020)

Over the next 12 months we will have rolling impacts across a number of streets - the 3 for the works Cusack, Norton, and Docker Streets.  We will also have impacts on traffic movements on Ovens, Baker and Mackay Streets

Updates will be provided as works progress.

Works are now almost complete in both Cusack and Norton Streets with minor landscaping activities still in progress. Council appreciates the patience of those that were impacted by the works.

Major works are occurring in Docker Street and will be ongoing until early 2021. As at 19th October 2020, Traffic management arrangements that have been put in place to enable us to complete the works are:

- One way traffic flow on Docker Street in an easterly direction from the railway end towards the CBD. Access from Mackay Street (via Rowan St or from Norton Street. Left turn only restrictions apply when exiting these streets into Docker Street.

- No parking available in  Docker Street. Car parking spaces have been set aside for the Docker Street businesses and facilities with signs indicating available spots in Mackay and Baker Streets.

- The Close which runs off Ovens Street around the cathedral, is closed at Docker Street and is acting as two way entry and exit from Ovens Street.

- Footpaths on both sides of Docker Street are being reconstructed. Pedestrian access will be provided for though this may not be available on both sides for the full length and conditions may change with notice.

Traffic controllers are present on the site at all times during working hours to help you get safely through the site and to ensure the safety of workers. Please obey their directions as well as abide by any signs or barriers.
