Mitchell Avenue Masterplan Project

In addition to the installation of a dog park and exercise equipment, proposed improvements to the Reserve identified in the Masterplan include a sensory children’s garden, parkour equipment and a BMX pump track. Find out more on the status of the project below.

Splash Park

Works to improve Mitchell Avenue Splash Park are underway. The work will address structural issues and give Council the chance to respond to community feedback by making minor adjustments to the rock used on the mound, installing additional seating and replacing the concrete slide with a plastic one. The splash park will be open in time for summer.

Dog Park

The Mitchell Avenue dog park is now open. It provides a large fenced enclosure with a mix of trees, shrubs and open space for dogs to run around safely off-leash. There are also two double gated pedestrian/dog access points, two seats and two dog waste disposal facilities.

Outdoor Fitness Station

Thanks to funding from the Australian Government's Stronger Communities Program, an outdoor fitness station was installed at the reserve in December 2018.

Playground

The Mitchell Avenue playground provides shaded fun for kids year round, and includes a flying fox!
