Covid-19 Council Services

Services and facilities operating in line with Covid-19 restrictions:

  • Playgrounds - open
  • Skate Parks - open
  • Community spaces, including Mitchell Avenue Pump Track - open
  • Intermezzo Cafe at Wangaratta Performing Arts and Convention Centre - open
  • Visitor Information Centre - re-opening from 24 September for limited hours - Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday 10-3. All other times, phone 1800 801 065
  • Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre - re-opening 9 November - see www.wsac.vic.gov.au for details
  • Wangaratta Library - Reopened with changes to hours find out more at www.wangaratta.vic.gov.au/library. Click and collect to remain available.

Services remaining closed, with re-opening dates to be confirmed pending timing of the Victorian Government's Coronavirus Roadmap to Re-opening:

  • Wangaratta Art Gallery - Closed. Virtual tours are still available from their website. Please follow via the Gallery's Facebook page for news from Gallery staff.
  • Wangaratta Performing Arts and Convention Centre - closed. 

Council services still operating with Covid-safe protocals in place:

  • Wangaratta Government Centre remains open but we are actively discouraging members of the public from attending in person. If you have an enquiry or need to make a payment please go online or call us.  
  • Council Meetings are continuing, but we are actively discouraging in person attendance. Watch online instead. 
  • Your bins will continue to be collected, transfer stations and Landfill remain open. 
  • Wangaratta Children’s Services Centre’s Long Day Care, Kindergarten and Family Day Care remain open. 
  • Wangaratta Aged and Disability Care continue to provide home care and packaged care, with some changes to client interactions. 
  • Capital works and all field services are continuing. 

Council is acting on the advice currently provided by the State Government.
