Tourism Event Funding

Applications are now open for Council's 2018/19 Tourism Event Funding Program.

The Event Funding Program focuses on events that are able to attract, or are likely to attract in the future, intrastate, interstate and/or international visitors. Private Sector and Not for Profit organisations are encouraged to apply. The guidelines and application forms can be downloaded below.

Applications close Wednesday 22 August 2018, 5pm.

Marquee and Major Events– grants of up to $5,000 ex gst.

  • These events are selected, recognised events (including one-off events) which contribute to the economic and marketing objectives of the Rural City of Wangaratta. Marquee and Major Events are reflective of the Rural City of Wangarattta’s identified tourism product strengths and are significant in terms of branding and marketing opportunities for the region. Marquee events attracting more than 3,000 visitors. Major events attracting between 500 to 2,999 visitors. 

Minor Events – grants of up to $2,000 ex gst

  • These events are generally annual events held throughout the Rural City of Wangaratta which provide significant economic impact and tourism significance for the region, attracting less than 500 visitors.
