Draft Brand Strategy

A Brand Strategy for the entire municipality will drive investment and growth in the Rural City of Wangaratta.

Community members are invited to find out about the strategy over the next month, after Councillors voted to commence a period of community consultation.

The brand identity is on display through the above video and the attachment below.

Mayor Dean Rees said the Brand Strategy was aimed at attracting more tourism and investment to Wangaratta and instilling pride with local residents.

Brand Strategy Information Sessions

  • Wednesday May 29, 12.00-1:00pm
  • Monday June 3, 6:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Wednesday June 12, 7.30am -8:30am

The above sessions will all be held in the Council Chambers, Wangaratta Government Centre.

All are welcome to come along, find out about the Brand Strategy and ask questions.

The Brand Strategy community consultation period will run until 1 July 2019.

Why do we need a strategy?

A comprehensive Brand Strategy is needed because:

  • We are connected, natural and contemporary and we are the region where good things grow.
  • Our region’s branding has not been uniform and marketing has not been cohesive or impactful.
  • Our municipality is facing long term underperformance in marketing our offer to potential new investors, businesses, residents and visitors.
  • The new identity is for the whole municipality, not just Council. It is a new brand for our region that reflect our unique attractions, opportunities and businesses.
